Meet Us

The Tasmanian Ceramics Association is run by
a Committee of volunteers who meet monthly to discuss the general running of the organisation, creation of workshops, distribution of information, promotion of members,  and the curation of member exhibitions.

Although the TCA Headquarters is based in Hobart in the South, we aim to support and connect members across Tasmania.

We have a North West Coast group that meet regularly.

We also have a Members Only Studio in Hobart.

Our Principles

At the Tasmanian Ceramics Association, we uphold values of creativity, community, and collaboration. We believe in the transformative power of the arts, especially within ceramics, and we strive to create an inclusive environment for all artists, regardless of their background. Supporting our members is at the heart of what we do, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive and express their unique voices through their work. Our commitment to excellence pushes us to facilitate enriching experiences that foster skill development and artistic growth.

Our History

Founded by passionate ceramic artists in 1972, originally the Tasmanian Potters Society  began as a small collective with big dreams. Over the years, we have evolved into a respected voice in the ceramic community, advocating for our members and the art form itself. Our journey has been marked by numerous exhibitions and workshops that have inspired creativity across Tasmania. The dedication of our volunteers has played a crucial role in our growth, and we continue to strive for a more vibrant ceramics community, uniting artists from all regions of Tasmania under one umbrella of support.
